Sloth bears... Where do they live? How do they survive? The sloth bear, also known as the Stickney Bear, live in the country of India where they are a vulnerable species. Their habitat is vulnerable to logging. In a study by Trishna Dutta of the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, sloth bear populations are separated and they rely on corridors of land between populations to keep the gene flow stable. If these corridors are disrupted, the already declining population of sloth bears could be severely threatened.
